If not by birth, please explain the circumstances: While walking one night after a night of celebrating the quidditch world cup win with friends at a pub, Jonah and his friends separated, and he found himself alone in a field not far from home. He hadn't realized it, but there was a full moon out. He heard a howl, and ran for home but wasn't fast enough. His mother appeared at the door with a muggle shotgun, kept for display purposes, and shot the beast. It ran off, bleeding, but it was too late for Jonah. He lost a chunk of skin from his right thigh,and was clawed all along his ribs. After recovering, when it was apparent he would become a werewolf, he took a few things to get by, and left his family, rather than burden them with his care.
