Cassandra watched each student as they took their seat, and tried to discern which ones would be the troublemakers, and which ones would be the kissups. Teaching wasn't something she was used to, and to see many of the students enter looking as if this was something they were forced into discouraged her. She took a deep breath and began her lecture.

"Good afternoon. As you may have heard at the feast, my name is Professor Claymore, and I'll be teaching you Muggle Studies this term. I am also the head of Ravenclaw house. Don't think because I am head of Ravenclaw that means some of you will be getting special privileges-you won't. In fact, I expect my own house to set an example and work harder than any other house.

Now, as you can see, there are several shoeboxes full of small toys that I am going to pass around for you to examine. Feel free to pick them up and take a closer look, just don't damage them deliberately. And remember, no spellcasting at any time during this class."

She began passing down the small boxes to the rows of desks, each had the same items: a Rubik's cube, a beanie baby, and some Legos.

"During the course of this term, the recurring theme will be toys. The purpose is to observe some of the current and longest lasting trends, so that if a passing reference is made to any of these items you will be informed. The first item is a Rubik's cube," at this she began to revolve the cube in her hands, trying to match the color patterns but not trying very hard.

"This was very popular in the 1980's, and is currently undergoing a comeback. The purpose is to make each side a solid color. The next object is a beanie baby. These are considered collector's items, and some are very valuable, though they don't look it. Most however, are only valuable to their owner. Only someone who considers himself an expert can judge what is truly valuable in this instance of toy however.

"Our next toy, is a set of Legos. They are used to build whatever strikes the owner's fancy. Many children just build simple houses, however some become quite addicted to this, and build elaborate scenes, such as pirate ships and such. Many boxed sets are designed with this in mind, and come complete with whatever accessories needed to build the setup. Including little people." she smiled and held up a handful of square headed people and passed them out to the students.

"Now all you have to do, is play with these, or simply become familiar with how they work. Be prepared to be able to identify them by the time finals roll around."

Damnnn... Finaly someone smiled. She had been waiting for a single smile from one of her professors. Delilah instantly liked this professor. She was pretty. Perkier than that LaLisse guy. AND most importantly. She smiles. Delilah sat in her seat as the Professor passed out the toys. SCORE. She loved toys. They were always nice to her.

She had a new found confidence, she picked up the beanie baby she had passed out. She gave it a hug, she had needed a major hug since she had arrived. She sighed and picked up the cube thing. Her brother had had one when they were both kids. How could do it blindfolded. She had yet to finish it. He was always the smart one. She tinkered around with the cube for several minutes, then decided there was no hope of it ever getting straight. She placed the cube on the desk and picked up the legos. She had once made a gigantic Castle out of legos. it took up half of her room. Good times. Delilah began to build a roman temple type thing...

Mallory smiled at the new professor and reached for the box. Rubik's cube? Her dad gave her one as a gag one year, it wasn't as hard as it looked.
She played with it, and a few minutes later all the colors were lined up correctly on the toy. She reached for the legos next. legos were cool. She began to make a wall to seperate her from the younger students.

Ryan looked at the rubix cube gave it a twist and threw it aside he was muggleborn so new exactly what it was he hated rubix cubes .He had always had an intrest in lego so started putting the pieces together and made a magnificent football stadium he knew he would find this class easy because hewas muggle born .He looked at the beanie babies and gave the beans a shake he used to love beanies when he was little.

Ivy looked at all the toys. YAY! Play time!

She started with the legos but only made a huge wall like thingy. Until she hit it with her elbow and the whole thing toppled over, scattering legos EVERYWHERE.

"'Scuse me, Scuse me, coming through, lost lego mission here, people!" she tried to look contrite as she shoved people's bags over, crawled around under desks, and lifted everyone's feet finding all the missing pieces.

Oh well...on to the next toy!

Rubicks cube...hmmm...She watched Mallory turning it, and tried to copy, but she was going to fast...and Mallory's was mixed up differently to begin with...damn...

Looking back and forth, she decided a different strategy was in order.

She sat the toy in her lap, and under the cover of her desk, picked all the stickers off and replaced them in the proper order. YAY! Finished!

Exhausted from all her work, she only gave a brief look at the rest of her items before laying her head on the desk for a 'time out'

"What are you AAH!" Mallory freaked as Ivy dove between her knees, and she pulled her skirt down, trying to keep it from riding up as the smaller girl crawled around on the floor, without any warning. She was such a pain. How many classes did they take together anyway?

Cassandra sighed. Nobody warned her about this.

"If you ladies are finished, could you please take whatever notes you deem necessary, and clear out of here, AFTER straightening this mess?" she smiled, but it was strained. God, now she knew why Mike drank so much.
