If the fifth year had expected a fun lesson, they were all in for a surprise, there was nothing fun there is, it's the O.W.Ls year, which was exactly why Kenneth was not going to talk about it. He was even already late for the first lesson, not a setting a very good example to his student. Kenneth didn't mind that at all, they could all complain and ended up with a nasty troll professor or professor that could kill with just one look, ten minutes late, that was nothing. Kenneth continued to walk slowly even making his steps smaller, just a little bit more late, leaving his students all anxious waiting by the door, he expects them to want to just burst into the classroom, but the door was locked and a simple Alohamora charm was not going to do any good. An experienced wizard (being twenty eight compare to a few fifteen and sixteen year olds) Kenneth was way beyond them, he had place several different charm on the door for which if anyone else to enter, they cannot.

"I'm late, aren't I?" He asked casually, brushing off non-existing dusts on his robe. "Well, better not delay any further. In you go." He said with his wand out-stretch pointing at the door and it flung open at once, he waited until the last student strode into the class but did not enter himself, he checked his watch, fifteen minutes delay in class, then he walked into the room. Without any explanation he began to introduce himself. "I'm Professor Irving, I'll be teaching Transfiguration this year." He started off. "I know that this year will be your owl year but we'd just skip that until later." He continued on and stop after a while waiting for respond.

Mallory looked up from her book, frowning. It was bad form for professors to be late for their own class, and leaving the students alone. Some of them had tried to put permanent sticking charms on his desk drawers, but she directed them back to their seats in time. Rotten children.

She looked him over, wondering if they would be doing anything today. He was attractive, and rather young for a professor, though it seemed most of the new professors were young now, with few exceptions.

Delilah sat in her chair with her elbow on her desk and he chin in her palm, she had nearly fallen asleep when the professor burst in. How rude. Delilah rubbed her eyes and drifted back into the world of reality. Delilah stared up at he professor, he was young and pretty attractive. If she was not new and her was not her professor, she would totally be interest, but alas she was and alas once more, he was. Delilah Sat up straight and replied to the professor cheerfully "Hello Professor Irving." She didn't much care anymore if she was the only one saying it.

Mallory didn't realize they were allowed to just call out. Most of the professors expected silence, unless they were being addressed directly.

"Hello Professor," she chimed in politely, still a little miffed at his lateness, there was no excuse for it. She hoped this wouldn't be a repeat occurrence.

Sean stood outside the door with the others, his foot tapping against the marble floor. Fifteen minutes late, so unprofessional...so completely unprofessional. He moved aside to let the professor through and was the first one to enter the classroom once the door was open. Once he was nicely settled in his seat with his book and materials laid out on the desk, he looked up at the professor and waited. Was he supposed to say hello? He turned to the girl who greeted him last and smiled at her. They were only being so nice to the new professor because they fancied him.

Mallory smiled back at Sean, and made a whirly kind of swirl with her forefinger, as if to say whoopee. She winked and started doing some of her defence homework on a parchment, since it seemed today they were just going to be hanging out.

She snickered and wrote on a scrap of parchment, and passed it to Sean. It was a picture of the professor trying to run to class before his students got there. Underneath was the caption,
"are we there yet?"

Sean shook his head in amusement and began flipping through the pages of the textbook. He skimmed through some of the book during the summer and was very pleased with some of the spells they were going to be performing. He just hoped the professor wasn't the type that spent an eternity on the easier lessons. After all, they were going to be taking their O.W.Ls at the end of the term. Sean wanted to learn as much as he could in the limited amount of time that they had.

He read Mallory's note and held back a laugh. He scribbled a response on the same piece of parchment and passed it back. His response read,

"I bet you a sickle he was in the bathroom the whole time. That's why he's so quiet about it."

Delilah looked around at Mallory glad to see someone following her lead, she gave her a little wave and a smile and looked back to the front of the room at the professor waiting for him to start teaching them something. That is what he is supposed to do, or is that different aswell, maybe he is supposed dance around in a clown costume. That would be so entertaining.

Mallory gave a tiny wave back to Delilah, and looked down at the parchment again. She giggled, then covered her mouth and narrowed her eyes, coughing to try and cover it up. She tried to look as serious as possible, until she stopped.

She wrote down, 'Do you think he engaged in any bathroom reading while he was there? Daily Prophet's advice column, or the Quibbler's interview of the month?' before passing it back.

"Hello Professor Irving" Sachiko moaned. What a waste. She wondered if they would do anything this term that was constructive. Like, transforming pillboxes into coffins.

Sachiko groaned at the two in front of her, whispering and passing notes back and forth. How childish. Unless of course they were planning on impaling themselves on something pointy and dying in each other's arms. That was the kind of Romeo and Juliet imitation she could handle.
