Mike Dunbar

Start of Term Feast (Term One)

Michael took stood up from his seat at the high table and cleared his throat.

"Good evening, and welcome to yet another year at Hogwarts. I am your new headmaster, Michael Dunbar, and want to share with you all how glad I am to see so many of you returning."

"Before we begin, I would like to make a few announcements. Due to recent events we no longer have prefects, they will be chosen at a later date. Also, we have many new staff members, since so many have departed. I'd like to introduce our new deputy headmistress, head of Ravenclaw house Cassandra Claymore, who will be teaching muggle studies this term" he paused while she nodded to the students before continuing, "Also Salome Sedgewick, our Flying professor and head of Hufflepuff," he smiled at her not realizing it was almost a leer and motioned toward Regina, "Our returning Potions Mistress, Regina Gaunt, and our Head of Gryffindor, and transfiguration professor, Kenneth Irving," he paused for applause as the Gryffindors were loud and eager for their head of house.

"We also have a new Care of Magical Creatures professor, Miguel Allende, and a new librarian, Pervious Hazard." He motioned to them both and worked his way down the table, reaching the end. "And lastly, our newest Defence Against the Dark Arts professor and head of Slytherin, Zhanita Dragontamer."

"I am sure you all will make this a memorable term for us, and without any further delay, let the feast begin!"

He retook his chair, relieved it was over. He couldn't help but detect a note of hostility, and wondered what he had missed...
Pervious Hazard

Pervious intended to stand and bow to the students. However, he found much difficulty in getting out of his seat due to the rather large woman sitting next to him, and had no choice but to settle for a slight nod. He was shoulder to shoulder with Miguel and was squished so tightly between the two, he barely had any elbow room to lift a spoonful of mashed potatoes to his mouth. Fed up with the situation, he slammed his fork down and turned to the woman.

"Madame, would it be too much for you to mm MY GOD! Miguel, why on earth would you let one of your creatures sit at the table. This cannot possibly be a professor. Merlin's bikini..what is this world coming to." He looked down at the row of professors, hoping at least one of them agreed.
Cassandra Claymore

Cassandra tugged on her skirt awkwardly, half rose from her seat and nodded at everyone, and resumed her place at Michael's right side. Things weren't going well, in spite of the hopeful grin Mike kept up. Already some of the staff members were glaring at each other, and she hoped they could keep up a good face at least until the students were dismissed to their dorms.

She shook her head and wanted to slam her head onto the table. Mike was an idiot. They had gone over the staffing assignments for hours, and somehow he had forgotten who the CoMC teacher was, and that Miguel was in fact teaching Astronomy.

She kicked Pervious in the shins for his tactless remark, and tried to change the subject.

"It seems our illustrious headmaster, in his excitement has made a slight error," she murmured to her fellow staff. "Professor LaLisse is in fact teaching Magical Creatures, and Miguel here, is in charge of Astronomy. I am sure the students will figure it out when they head to classes tomorrow, so I see no need to embarrass him for the moment."

She forced an even brighter smile on her face, and reached for the pumkin juice, before her attention to Miguel and Pervious.

"So how are you gentlemen enjoying your new positions? Are there any last minute requirements, anything overlooked?" she tried to keep the focus on the least harmless appearing members of the table. Regina was already shooting daggers out of her eyes at both Zhanita, Mike...and herself? What had she done already? She kept her eyes focused on the men across from her, not looking at anyone else.
Kenneth Irving

Kenneth was jabbing his potatoes with a fork when his name was called and loud applauses followed seconds later, slightly overwhelmed by the applauses, Kenneth got up to his feet and give a small bow, forgetting about his plate, Gryffindor have always have their ways on how to make the presence known in a crowd. He took his seat back, surprised by a loud remark by Previous Hazard that send him knocking the salt. "My mistake." He said indifferently, putting the salt back in place before taking his seat.
Regina Gaunt

Regina glared at the headmaster, then scoffed at his introductions. What an IDIOT. LaLisse, that queer animal fanatic, had been teaching Magical Creatures for three years, didn't Dunbar know anything?

She wanted to puke at the sight of the new Gryffindor head, Irving as he bowed to his new little fanclub. Typical Gryffindors, either kissing up to their superiors, or making a huge deal out of polite recognition.
She fingered her dessert spoon and wondered how it would feel if she lodged it deeply in Dunbar's chest.

Pretty damned good.

Bastard had passed her over for her promotion, and gave it to some outsider. Bastard. She spared a glare at the new deputy headmistress, wondering how many blowjobs it took for her to get that job. Cassandra Claymore? What the hell kind of name was that? It sounded like some lame kind of muggle comic book hero.

Then there was that Miguel guy. His reputation alone would have given him a glimmer of respectability, but he sat there quivering like a jelly mold. Bastard.

Next was that bitch that stole her job right out from under her...Dragontamer. Was that even a real name? Face of a dog, sweating all into her plate, eyes glazed over. THIS was what they replaced her with? Bastards...

They were all bastards....
Miguel Allende

Imbécil

Pajieraheadmaster, couldn't even remember what class he was teaching this term.

Miguel ignored most of the speech and clutched his tea quietly and sat hunched over in his seat. He shuddered once and gave the table a quick look before turning his attention to his plate.

He was surrounded by dark creatures, the lot of them. That Gaunt woman, she had to be a vampire there was no other explanation. The defense teacher was obviously part giant, and the Creatures teacher, the REAL one, was obviously gay.

Technically that didn't make him a dark creature of course, but, Miguel knew if his parents were alive and he came out with that, they would certainly call him that.

The headmaster was certainly an idiot, the librarian an incubus, and the deputy headmistress--he hadn't figured it out yet.

He gave another shudder and tried to make himself as invisible as possible, counting the minutes until he could disappear.
Pervious Hazard

The tension was getting to be a bit too much. What the hell was everyone's problem anyway? The feast had barely begun and already death glares were being shot all around the table. The only person who had the right to be angry was Pervious. He was the one seated next to Sasquatch.

"Blimey!" he sat up nice and straight after receiving what he thought to be a knee rub gone astray, and leaned over the table the little bit that he could and whispered to Cassandra, "My dear, if you want to have a go at it after the feast I'll be more than happy to." He ever so graciously squeezed back into his seat, keeping his eye on Cassandra the entire time, and pushed his plate aside. He would need to leave plenty of room for dessert....
Kenneth Irving

Kenneth looked from his left to right carefully, he is stuck between quiet a few staffs that appear to hate each other as much as the person sitting next to them. He was right to chose to work with children rather than people his age, they can be... the safest way to put it, insane. From what he can see, apart from himself there was only two other person that were sane along the table, the Headmaster, Mike Dunbar, and the Deputy Headmistress, Cassandra Claymore, even when the Headmaster have trouble remembering his own staff arrangement.

The librarian, Previous Hazard had already started made himself known by forcing to make himself be the center of attention. The Potions Mistress, Regina Gaunt had already give her obvious impression that she hated everyone at the table and would put her arms around their neck and break them the second she have the chance and the Astronomy Professor, Miguel Allende looked intimidated in his seat and was trying to make himself invisible which would have been successful if had not been him sitting at the Staff table with hundreds pair of eyes belong to the students that were sitting around the house tables before them.

Kenneth took a sip from his goblet, exceptional taste of pumpkin juice enter his mouth before he swallow the juice down his throat, he tried not to make judgment of his colleague and avoid eye contact with any of them.
Mike Dunbar

Mike reached for the roast chicken, taking a leg and thigh, some roast potatoes, and baby carrots, piling his plate high. Things seemed to be going much better than expected. Oh, sure, Regina was all sour grapes but from what he had seen so far, that seemed to be her usual attitude anyway. This was going to be a GREAT year!

He took a huge bite out of the chicken leg and chewed noisily enjoying himself. House elf cooking was almost as good as mum's. His eyes bugged and he nearly choked when the librarian leaned across the table and began to whisper to Cassandra. He could barely make out the words, but it didn't take a genius to figure out he wasn't lecturing her about the card catalogs. He swallowed hard and stared. Who the hell did he think he was? At least he knew Cassandra was a common sense kind of girl, almost unchanged since school, who didn't fall for flash talk. In fact, he didn't doubt she was the same ice queen she was in school, mostly terrified of men, which suited him fine. She wouldn't have time to flirt with the amount of work they had ahead of them anyway. Still. He couldn't just let everyone think it was appropriate to chat up his new right hand. Nope.

"Excuse me, Mr. Hazard, but if you have something to say, surely you can share it with the rest of us? And I don't think I need to remind everyone here we have an example to set for our young, impressionable students. Cassandra, sweetheart, I have a mountain of work ahead of us tonight, so please don't make any plans."

He smiled as if the matter was settled and drank some of his wine before continuing, "Anyway, Cassandra isn't the type that is interested in dating from what I remember, you'd be better off chasing some of those birds in Hogsmeade, pretty good pickings there."
Pierce Cummings

Pierce was running late as he entered the great hall with the festivities where already underway. Stupid elf made me late. As he walked up to the table and saw everyone he said. "Hello everyone, so sorry to be late, but I was uh, detained. My name is Pierce I'm the new Healer and I hope to be of service in any way I can." He took a seat next to some young lady, looking very pensive and upset. He smiled and slightly bowed his head to her as he quickly took his seat.
Jason LaLisse

Jason took a huge drink from his wine goblet and ignored Mike. The idiot couldn't even remembered who he hired, so why should he remind him? It wasn't like Jason was making the big bucks here.

He shoved his chair back slightly and watched the byplay between all of them, especially Regina. He was almost sympathetic, after all, she had her eye on being a head of house for years, only to be passed over by an odd twist of fate. He was almost sympathetic. Except for the fact that she was completely insane, he would have been completely sympathetic.

He drank some more and watched Mike stuff his face like a pig, and pretty much act like the uncouth slob he knew him to be. How his family had turned someone like him out was anyone's guess.

The healer was lucky. Whatever made him show up late, Jason wished he had that kind of luck. He sniffed the air, and a familiar smell wafted over to him making him wrinkle his nose, and he turned in time to see Zhanita shift in her seat. He raised his glass to her in a mock salute, an excuse to confirm his suspicions by taking a closer glance, and he went back to watching the rest of the staff, just a little shaken.

He couldn't believe they had hired a part troll to teach DADA. Of couse that information wouldn't be commonplace, and he knew how to keep his mouth shut, but it was quite a shock.

He considered for a moment, how much it would be worth to Dunbar to keep that information quiet, but then figured the man probably didn't even know what the hell he had hired anyway, and decided to let the man learn it himself in his own time.
Harmony Lake

Harmony stared into her cup deeply, and refilled it a fourth time with the house elf wine. She sagged a little, then arched her back to sit up, for some reason she was oddly sleepy. And this was boring.

She glanced to her left, at her discarded tea cup and shook her head. Poor Michael. He was going to have a bad year, the leaves never lied.
Cassandra Claymore

Cassandra head was in a whirl. Just as she was about to tell off Perv--Mr. Hazard--about his not so smooth suggestion, she had an abrupt about face, brought on by Michael's half assed comments about her.
Was he trying to say she wasn't appealing? Or that she was frigid? What exactly was that supposed to mean?

She glared at Mike and cleared her throat, hoping to get his full attention as she leaned in to whisper to Pervious, "I am not so sure about having a 'go at it'-" she glanced at Mike once more before letting her voice carry slightly, "but I'd be more than happy to stop by your rooms and help you get settled in, maybe have a nightcap before retiring."

She turned her full attention back to Mike and sat back, and threw her napkin on her plate, before taking a deep breath, her fists in her lap.
"Headmaster, as you know, I have everything that is required for the first week already organized as fully as it can possibly be. If there is some unforseen event, we will have to handle it as it arises, so with THAT, I will bid you all good night."
She kept glaring at Mike, then smiled at everyone else, especially that poor unfortunate Defence teacher and took her leave before she did something really really stupid.
Azalea Macnair

Azalea listened as the newly-appointed headmaster spoke. Her eyes lingering on the new faces... old... trampy... foreign... she labeled each one, pausing at the youngest male staff member. oh baby.. she licked her lips. Since when did they hire hot professors? She couldnt help her mouth drop as the headmaster announced the heads of houses. Her eyes moved from the studly Gryffindor head to the not-so charming Slytherin head. Her smile that had previously been plastered on her face curved into a frown "WHAT?!?!?!" she snapped loudly. Throwing a napkin down on the table and standing up".. Your kidding... right" she said with some hope lingering her voice. Eyes daggering onto the woman who looked monsterous. But that didnt last very long, because you could only stare at a hideous thing for so long.

The woman was simply putrid. Disgusting... and she coulda sworn that there was a funky smell emmitting from the woman. Just looking at her she could feel that this woman wasnt of blood nobility. It screamed it. And the worst part of all this was the fact that conning the HOH would be harder then usual. "I think I would have preffered that psyco bitch of a potions professor as head of house..." she mumbled under her breath, slowly easing back into her seat. Although feeling very... disturbed. Wait until my father hears about this... this insantiy she huffed, grabbing a roll an tearing a piece off violently. Her eyes lingering back onto the Gryffindor Head of house. "Lucky bastards.." Gryffindors always got everything. Trophies... badges... and now a hot head of house to go with it. What next? A freaking statue dedicated to them... she scowled, popping the small bit of the roll into her mouth.
Delilah Ann Johnson

Damn... it was weird here. Delilah struggled hard to pay attention to the Mike guy as he went on & on & on. She far to ADD for these sorta long winded speeches. She found her attention drifting away from the proffesors and such and over to the table of the rather scary looking people wearing green, they all seemed to scowl at her when their eyes met. Grreeeaaat... she was hated by total strangers already, what a great first day. Delilah glanced up at the ceiling nervously, trying to escape the glares being shot at her. She was suprised to see the dark sky above her. How inhumane. They couldn't afford a roof.

Delilah longed so much to be back in America with her accountant brother and her friends, why was she so stupid. Yeah. I agree with you mommy, I think i should go to Hogwarts, so I can be closer to you and Dad. Damn her. Delilah fidgeted with her skirt, she was so uncomfortable, at her old school they didn't have stupid uniforms. They were much more relaxed too. And what is with the stupid names. Hufflepuff. How dorky. Gryfindor. Lame. Ravenclaw. Stupid. Slytherin. Ewww. At her other school they didn't have houses, you were broken into groups by your year.

Delilah gazed up at the teachers, they looked as if they were made of metal, none of them smiled, or hummed, or did anything remotely human. She was going to hate it here. They probably ate the artsy people for breakfast, and brunch. HA. They probably served tea here. How dull. And British. Delilah refused to accept that she was british, she is a citizen of the world. fo shizzle it drizzles.
Ivy LaLisse

Ivy stuffed a buttered roll into her mouth and swallowed quickly, downing her pumpkin juice and waiting for the right moment. THERE! He looked up!!

She waved frantically at Jason, and grinned, and held up her textbook, showing she was in his class again this year. Wouldn't he be all excited?

She looked around at all the new students, some older ones were unfamliar, and listened while Mike droned on...and on....and ON....

Finally he finished and sat down, and she got a good look at her head of house. Wow...he was young...not bad looking either...even if he was too old for Ivy, she would grow up eventually. Maybe he would still be that good looking after she graduated?

She clapped loudly for him, and quieted down, and got down to business. Dodger jumped out of her front pocked, and she laid out a lettuce leaf from her salad for him.
Leah McFadden

Leah was a little frantic, how on earth can she not, her little brother, small little brother was sitting away at a different table, the Gryffindor table, how could she take care of him if she is not near enough to make sure he ate right or even know which dishes he can eat or allergic too. She gasped every now and then, glancing over at the Gryffindor table every five seconds, not even touching her own food. Of course, Professor Irving (she is not allowed to call him Uncle Ken, it is school after all) can look after her brother, but she never trusts anyone could take enough care of her precious little brother, he is so small after all, what if he chocked? Leah glanced nervously at the Gryffindor table again just to make sure...
Salome Sedgewick

Salome watched it all with a cat like smile. How silly. Everyone could see that the best way to get through this was to just keep your mouth shut, and wait. And waiting was what she was best at.
Silly headmistress, leaving her all alone with so many attractive men. She fluttered her eyelashes as if she were merely a helpless damsel, and leaned forward to reach for some salad dressing while allowing the front of her robes to slip just a little. Just the tiniest bit.

"Funny, nobody ever offered me any help with settling in," she pouted, and bit into a cherry tomato, the juice spilling onto her full red lips. She swallowed, and licked her bottom lip with the tip of her tongue. She took a sip of wine and looked at each of the men in turn. Michael, Kenneth, Pervious, Pierce. So many men, so few hours in a day...or night.
Mike Dunbar

Mike was nervous. Had he said something wrong? No, it couldn't be. Everyone loved him, he knew it.
He smiled at Cassandra hopefully, and tried to get her to look at him as she left.

"I'll just ummm...stop by your office on the way to breakfast then.."

He watched Salome lean forward and pretty much lost whatever it was he was going to finish saying to Cass. It could wait. Geez Sal was hot.

"You know, Professor, I could give you some help with that settling in, if you don't mind. Maybe after we dismiss the students?" he asked hopefully.
Zhanita Dragontamer

Zhanita bit into a drumstick, smacking her lips and chewing with her mouth open. She ignored the idiots around her, and chugged her wine. They were all fools. Except for that one guy, he looked scared to death. GOOD.
She leered at him in what she hoped was a threatening fashion, and took a huge bite.
Kenneth Irving

Kenneth helped himself to some more food, ignoring everyone else that was sitting on the same table he was. He was busy chewing in silent, watching the students who were busy eating and chatting among themselves, he spotted two familiar faces of his relatives but did not attempt to catch their attention at all. "I didn't know you need any help Professor." Kenneth said, stopping from chewing a chicken leg at once, over hearing what Salome had said, he was not sure who she was talking to, but Headmaster Dunbar had first offered his help that Kenneth dare not to interrupt, but he could not help himself from blurting out every now and then.
Mallory Benson

Mallory looked over at Leah, and sighed. "I'm sure he's fine, he got sorted without falling off the stool, right? What do you think he's going to do, choke on his peas? He managed to eat for years and survive, I'm sure he'll be fine through one more meal." Poor Leah, suffering through the big sister syndrome. Mallory was glad to be an only child at times like this.

"He's probably only going to be embarrassed if his big sister keeps staring at him. Watch the drama up there, instead." she nodded at the high table. It was quiet, except someone just walked out, and everyone seemed to be glaring at each other. Except for the flying teacher. The guys seemed to all be staring at her chest.
Leah McFadden

If Mallory thought she was helping she was dead wrong, what she had just said made Leah far more anxious to check on his brother's well being, for one, his brother had chocked on peas before, sure, he was ten when that happens, but it was all her fault, she was suppose to keep an eye on him, she knew not to leave him eat alone, he could have died. She gasped, checking on her brother again, she seemed perfectly alright chewing his food and once he caught her eyes, he smiled and wave merrily, that, sadly, wasn't enough to convince her to let her brother be.

She finally managed to tore her eyes away from her brother who seemed to be in a deep conversation with his new friends and look at the staff table, only then she relieved what a weird staff member she would have to face for the rest of the term, a troll professor, a vampire, a slutty mcslut professor and... She looked away, she knew one of the staff member, they're pratically family, she thinks, she never seen much of her mum's or dad's family. Her dad's, well, there's the excuse of he's dead, so they never keep in touch and her mum's, they've always seemed to preoccupied to notice another human being. "Oh yeah, entertaining." She said boringly with her eyes drifted back towards her brother.
Mallory Benson

Mallory shrugged and nudged Leah.
"Come on, you know his friends are going to make his life a merry hell if they catch you babying him. Did you get your schedule for the new term?" she tried to change the subject. It wasn't seemly for older students to fraternize too much with the younger ones, especially first years. Even if they were your brother. She winked at him, and gave him a sympathetic smile before continuing.

"I got that tetchy Astronomy teacher. He's kind of cute, for someone who's so odd. And of course Transfiguration. And Muggle Studies, though I don't know what use that will be"
Delilah Ann Johnson

Delilah began stuffing her face, she didn't know what it was, but it was yummy. She took a large gulp of pumpkin juice and looked back up at the staff table. She had not notice the women before, but the men at the table sure were now, This must be my Head of House. She had wondered which of the teachers were. She was pretty, maybe a bit skanky, she had big assets. That's for sure, and the male professors were oogling over her goodies like they were at a candy shop. pathetic.
Leah McFadden

As much as Leah hated to admit it, Mallory was right about what hell her brother could go trough if she kept trying to protect him. She started to relax a little, taking the goblet full of pumpkin juice in front of her. "I guess you're right..." She said weakly. She just felt a little left out seeing how her brother no longer needs her like he used to when they were little. She'd still like to take care of him, like she had always done in the past. Past, the word hit her hard, she sighed, taking another sip from the goblet, the sweet juice tasted bitter as she continued to sip slowly.

Leah coughed out a mouthful of pumpkin juice. Did Mallory just imply that Professor Irving is cute? "Eww... They're our professors!" She exclaimed a little, finding the best way out from mentioning, Hey, you know, I'm related to the Transfiguration Professor. Just then she remembered that her brother was sorted in Gryffindor, if she had heard it right, Professor Irving is the Head of House, she suddenly felt relaxed and anxious at the same time, wanting to nag him on how to take care of her little brother like he would have the time.
Mallory Benson

"Yeah, but they're still guys. I can't close my eyes, you know. As long as we look but don't touch, we aren't breaking any rules that I can see." she grinned and wondered why Leah was so upset. Could she have a thing for either Irving or Allende herself?

"I wouldn't turn down private tutoring sessions from either of them, I'll tell you that." she grinned wickedly and took a sip from her cup. Of course she wouldn't actually do anything. But the idea was kind of appealing.
Leah McFadden

Ughh... How did she ended up being friends with Mallory was beyond Leah, there wasn't anything they could really agree on and one thing for sure was thinking a staff member or a couple of staff members as object of affection. Leah found it rather disturbing to even think about it, not to mention Mallory seemed to have listed Professor Irving into her list, and Professor Irving is somewhat like her uncle since her mother is his cousin, the thought was just sickening.

"You don't really mean that, don't you?" She asked, disbelief, she would turn down private tutors in a heartbeat, except from maybe Professor Irving since he's practically family, but she wouldn't dare to get around private lessons with professor to avoid gossips and she knows very well how gossips travel around the school, it's faster than the internet!
Ivy LaLisse

God, didn't that man ever shut up?
She couldn't recall a start of term feast speech ever so long...then again, they never had so many new teachers before either.

She squinted and looked over at Miguel, poor thing, he looked just like Merlin, the family crup, with those puppy eyes.

And it looked like their flying instructor finally got head of house? How had she managed that?

Ivy clapped loudly and stood up and whistled at her new head of house. Then the others started tugging her to sit, so she flopped down, and waited for the finish.
Salome Sedgewick

Salome gave Kenneth a very knowing look, "Well, a girl can never have too much...help" she responded, and shifted so that the top of her robes were suddenly tighter against her curves.

She glanced at each of the men, disappointed she only had one offer of 'help'. Maybe they were all just shy? She bit her full lower lip in a way that was appealing, and rose from the table.

"Well. If any of you feels like...helping me, or just stopping by, you know where to fine me," she turned and left, her hips sashaying from side to side as she moved.

OOC: Damn, now I need rooms, Very Happy
Misery Belladonna

Misery looked down at her plate. None of this looked edible. It looked like it had been killed already. And hadn't suffered in the killing, either. She pushed the chicken in gravy around on her plate. She couldn't find a single eyeball or entrail anywhere. She sighed, hoping she could get some food from home eventually.
Sachiko Takahashi

Sachiko looked at the girl across from her, they were the shortest ones at the Slytherin table. She ate a little and stared, the other one wasn't eating at all, just kind of moving her fork around.

"Nervous stomach?"
Regina Gaunt

Regina slammed down her goblet, and shoved her chair in at the table. This sucked, to steal her students expression. Not only did some skinny, shortskirted bleach blond wench decide her fate, along with some idiot with a mental problem and a huge arrested development issue, she had to sit here and listen to them?

She almost called the Slytherins to order, then remembered she wasn't their head of house. She stole a glance at Zhanita, and hoped they gave her hell. Cursing bitterly under her breath she left, not looking at anyone.
